বিশ্বের অন্যসব খেলোয়াড়দের মতো করোনাভাইরাসের বিরুদ্ধে লড়াইয়ে নেমেছেন বাংলাদেশের ক্রিকেটাররাও। মাশরাফি-তামিমরা মিলে আক্রান্তদের চিকিৎসায় ৩১ লাখ টাকা দান করেছেন। ক্রিকেটারদের এমন উদ্যোগের পর টনক নড়ল বাংলাদেশ ক্রিকেট বোর্ডেরও (বিসিবি)।
করোনা আক্রান্তদের পাশে দাঁড়ানোর ঘোষণা দিয়েছে বোর্ড। আজ সন্ধ্যায় প্রচারমাধ্যমকে বোর্ডের এই উদ্যোগের কথা জানান বোর্ডের প্রধান নির্বাহী নিজাম উদ্দিন চৌধুরি সুজন ও বিসিবির মিডিয়া কমিটির চেয়ারম্যান জালাল ইউনুস। তারা জানান, করোনাভাইরাস সংকট মোকাবেলায় সরকারের পাশে দাঁড়াবে বিসিবি।
এ প্রসঙ্গে বিসিবি পরিচালক জালাল ইউনুস বলেছেন, ‘করোনাভাইরাস সংকটে দেশের সবাইকে এগিয়ে আসতে হবে। আমরা বিসিবির পক্ষ থেকে যতটা সম্ভব করার চেষ্টা করব।’ কতটা চেষ্টা করবে বিসিবি? সহায়তার অংকটাই বা কেমন হবে? এনিয়ে অবশ্য পরিষ্কার কিছু বলেননি বোর্ডের এই পরিচালক।
এনিয়ে বোর্ডের প্রধান নির্বাহী সুজনের ব্যাখ্যা, ‘করোনাভাইরাস মোকাবেলায় সরকারকে সম্ভাব্য সবটুকু সহায়তা করবে বিসিবি। কিন্তু কীভাবে- নগদ অর্থ নাকি অন্য কোনো উপায়ে সাহায্য করা হবে সেটা খুঁটিয়ে দেখা হচ্ছে। বোর্ডে আলোচনা চলছে। বিসিবি ঠিক কী ভূমিকা রাখবে সেটা সরকারের সঙ্গে আলোচনা করে সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হবে।’
