অনেক দিনের দাবির পর আম্পায়ারদের ডিসিশন রিভিউ সিস্টেম (ডিআরএস) আসছে ইন্ডিয়ান প্রিমিয়ার লিগে (আইপিএলে)। অন্যতম জনপ্রিয় এই ঘরোয়া আসরের চেয়ারম্যান রাজিব শুক্লা বুধবার সংবাদ মাধ্যমকে জানিয়েছেন, পাকিস্তান সুপার লিগের (পিএসএল) পর দ্বিতীয় টি-টোয়েন্টি আসর হিসেবে ডিআরএস যোগ করতে যাচ্ছে আইপিএল।
ক্রিকেটে প্রযুক্তির সহায়তা নিতে বরাবরই বিসিসিআইয়ের কিছুটা অনাগ্রহ দেখা যায়। সুতরাং তারা যে আইপিএলে ডিআরএস যোগ করতে রাজি হলো, এটাই অনেককে বিস্মিত করেছে। বিসিসিআই না চাইলেও বেশ কয়েকটি আইপিএল দল দীর্ঘদিন ধরে ডিআরএস যোগ করার দাবি জানিয়ে আসছিলো।
আইপিএলে ডিআরএস যোগ করার সিদ্ধান্তটা খুব সম্ভবত গত ডিসেম্বরে নেয়া হয়। সে সময় ডেনিস বার্নস, আইসিসির আম্পায়ারদের কোচকে দিয়ে ভারতের ঘরোয়া ক্রিকেটের কয়েকজন আম্পায়ারকে প্রযুক্তি বিষয়ে প্রশিক্ষণও দেয়া হয়।
এপ্রিলের সাত তারিখ থেকে শুরু হবে এবারের আইপিএল। ৬০ ম্যাচের এই টি-টোয়েন্টি লিগের প্রথম ম্যাচ হবে মুম্বাইয়ের ওয়েংখেড়েতে। স্বাগতিক মুম্বাই ইন্ডিয়ান্স ও চেন্নাই সুপারকিংস প্রথম ম্যাচে মুখোমুখি হবে।
