বিশ্বকাপের উইকেট বিপিএলে

চলতি বছরের জুন-জুলাইয়ে যুক্তরাষ্ট্র ও ওয়েস্ট ইন্ডিজে বসতে যাচ্ছে টি-টোয়েন্টি বিশ্বকাপ ক্রিকেটের আসন্ন আসর। সেই বিষয়টি মাথায় রেখেই এবারের বাংলাদেশ প্রিমিয়ার লিগ ক্রিকেটের উইকেট প্রস্তুত করা হবে বলে জানিয়েছেন বাংলাদেশ ক্রিকেট বোর্ডের (বিসিবি) এক কর্মকর্তা।

চলতি মাসের ১৯ তারিখে শুরু হতে যাচ্ছে বিপিএলের ১০ম আসর, যা অনুষ্ঠিত হবে ঢাকা, চট্টগ্রাম ও সিলেটের তিন ভেন্যুতে।
‘টি-টোয়েন্টি হচ্ছে মূলত ব্যাটারদের খেলা এবং আমরা এখানে (বিপিএল) অনেক রান চাই। বিশ্বকাপে যে উইকেটে খেলা হয় আমরা তেমন উইকেটেই এখানে প্রস্তুত করতে চাইব। আমরা বিশ্বকাপেরর বিষয়টি মাথায় রাখতে বলেছি, যাতে করে এখান থেকেই তারা প্রস্তুতি নিতে পারে,’ বলছিলেন বিসিবির কমকর্তা।
তিনি আরও বলেন, ‘আমার মনে হয়, আমাদের পক্ষে এটা করা সম্ভব। আপনারা জানেন যে জুনের আগ পর্যন্ত আমাদের প্রচুর খেলা আছে। সে কারণে আমরা ভেন্যুগুলো ভাগ করে দিয়েছি, যাতে করে ভালো উইকেটে খেলতে পারি।’
