তামিলনাড়ুর মুখ্যমন্ত্রী জয়ললিতার মৃত্যুতে সমগ্র ভারতে নেমেছে শোকের ছায়া। সদ্য প্রয়াত আম্মার শেষকৃত্যে অংশগ্রহণের জন্য সারা দেশের নেতা-নেত্রীরা চেন্নাইয়ে একত্র হচ্ছেন।
রাষ্ট্রপতি প্রণব মুখোপাধ্যায়ও জয়ললিতাকে শেষ শ্রদ্ধা জানাতে চেন্নাইয়ের পথে রওনা হয়েছিলেন। কিন্তু মাঝপথে তিনি একরকম বিপাকেই পরলেন। মাঝপথে পৌঁছে বিমানে গোলযোগ দেখা দেয়। ফলে বাধ্য হয়ে রাষ্ট্রপতিকে বিমান ঘুরিয়ে ফিরে যেতে হয় দিল্লীতে।
পরে রাষ্ট্রপতির দফতর থেকে জানানো হয়, বায়ু সেনা বিমানে করে চেন্নাইয়ের পথে রওনা হয়েছিলেন প্রণব মুখোপাধ্যায়। কিন্তু বিমানে ত্রুটি দেখা দেয়ায় বিমানের জরুরী অবতারণ করানো হয়। পরে আরেকটি বিমানে করে চেন্নাইয়ে উপস্থিত হন রাষ্ট্রপতি।
জানা গেছে, চেন্নাইয়ের মেরিনা সৈকতে তামিলনাড়ুর পাঁচবারের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী জয়ললিতার শেষকৃত্যের আয়োজন করা হয়েছে। সেখানে প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদীসহ দেশের শীর্ষস্থানীয় সব নেতৃত্ব উপস্থিত হয়েছেন।
